Sustained Release Hormone Pellets

Revitalize Anti Aging Centers offers BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) through several delivery systems, including gels, creams, and injections. Most patients, however, opt for sustained release pellets. Patients generally find them the most convenient option and we often recommend them because they provide the most consistent hormone levels and most reliable means of replacing hormones available.

How do sustained release hormone pellets work?

About the size of a cooked grain of rice and injected under the skin in a ten-minute office procedure, sustained release hormone pellets contain bioidentical hormones (estrogen and/or testosterone) which they release into the bloodstream over a three to four-month period. The pellets themselves dissolve and do not need to be removed.

What are the primary benefits of hormone therapy in general and pellets in particular?

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) pellets are a safe, efficient, relatively painless way to restore your hormones to more youthful levels, eliminate the unwanted side effects of menopause in women and low testosterone in men and get you on your way to a better quality of life.

With hormone pellets, there is no need for oral preparations, creams, gels, or injections. That means that the possibility of forgetting to take doses or having anyone – including children and pets – accidentally come into contact with hormones is eliminated.

Patients generally obtain relief from unwanted symptoms of low estrogen or testosterone levels within the first two weeks. Most people begin to feel better after only one or two days.

Bioidentical hormone replacement pellets have been found to produce more consistent blood hormone levels than one would get with intermittent dosing with creams, gels, or injections.

Hormone blood levels are checked every few months. The patient returns to our offices three to four times a year for a quick, relatively painless, pellet insertion.

The hormones are derived from plant sources, mainly soy or yams, and are comprised of compounds that are very similar to what our bodies naturally produce.
